Basics of Herbal Colon Cleanse
There many different ways to cleanse the colon and using herbs is also one of the effective ways of cleansing. The toxic waste that accumulates in our body acts as anti-agents and breaks down our metabolism giving rise to different illnesses and diseases. One of the major breakouts are skin problems like acne, and other irritations, colon cancer, ulcers, blood cholesterol and many other digestive problems. Most of the diseases and illnesses are interconnected with one problem slowly giving rise to another.
The toxins in our body remain accumulated in the blood even if we continue to have a good bowel movement. Indian Ayurveda which is one of the most ancient systems of herbal medicine along with the Chinese and other traditional healing methods has one of the finest herbs available for colon cleansing. One of the herbs is known as Haritaki. When you start with this routine ensure you don’t eat very spicy and oily food. Don’t eat anything in hotels or fast food outlets and maintain a strict routine of raw vegetable salads with simple boiled food. Haritaki is a herb which comes as seeds. To start with the cycle of cleansing, you can soak it in water overnight and eat it the next morning in empty stomach. You need to start with one seed on the first day and then the second day soak two seeds. As the days progress you need to add three on day three, four on day four and finally fourteen on day fourteen. This is the first half of the cleansing cycle.
The second half starts again with fourteen seeds on day fifteen and slowly you start reducing in descending order. The seeds are very bitter to swallow but produce very good effects of cleansing. This cycle lasts for 28 days. During this period you can eat simple rice boiled with vegetables with minimum salt and pepper with lentils and pulses. Eat as many fruits and drink a lot of water though the day. During this period you will experience irritation, anger and also increase in concentration and energy levels and also diarrhea.
The other method is to eat only non-citrus fruits like bananas, apples, berries and grapes for two weeks. During this period you can drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water per day. This will ensure a good and smooth passing of stool. During this period it is good to do light yoga and go for a nice morning walk. You can prepare carrot juice and apple juice which can be taken once day.
